Grateful thanks to all who supplied goods and services or gave their time towards the refurbished Village Hall.


During the Covid pandemic lockdown period, we have been grateful to receive grants totalling £27,669 for the Village Hall from Rugby Borough Council. These grants were available to small businesses and village halls across the country. The Village Hall Committee has been delighted to spend this money with local businesses so we can carry out the improvements to the Hall whilst it has been closed and to secure its future for the local community.


Improvements include:


Porch and Noticeboard

  • Painted by Neil and Vicki Adkins.

  • Coir matting to the entrance supplied by Vessey Flooring, Rugby.


Old School Cupboards and Coat Stand

  • Renovated by Gary Rigby.


Toilets

  • New urinals and moisture board, supplied and fitted by Lennie Snelson, Kingdom Plumbing.

  • Paper towel dispenser and hands-free waste bins, fitted by Jim Conning.


Bar Area and Main Hall

  • Non-slip surface to bar and store area; new laminate floor to previously carpeted area. Supplied and fitted by Vessey Flooring, Rugby.


Curtains and Blinds

  • Supplied and made by Drop Dead Gorgeous (Sharron Halsted), from Southam.

  • Plastering to ceiling by Sean Murphy, Grandborough.

  • Plastering to kitchen by Colin Trundle, Nudor Ltd., Long Buckby.


Windows

  • Top panes in kitchen replaced by Style Glaze, Daventry

  • Secondary glazing to front windows, supplied by A J Albury of Shuckburgh and fitted by Gary Rigby and Jim Conning.


Kitchen

  • Supplied by Howdens of Daventry and fitted by Pete Lyes, Daventry.

  • Kitchen tiles supplied by Topps Tiles, Rugby.


Electrics

  • Extra sockets fitted and emergency lighting replaced by Paul Jones, P J Electrical of Onley/Willoughby.


Glitter Balls

  • Re-hung by Bob King and Jim Conning.


Speakers and Wi-Fi

  • Re-fitted by Jim Conning and John Lee.


Noticeboard

  • Sign-writing by Amber Screen and Display, Dodford and Daventry.


Internal Roof Repairs

  • Nudor Ltd


External Repairs

  • Re-pointing the south side and making good the porch by Nudor Ltd.

  • On-going roof repairs, to be completed in October by Nudor.


Repainting

  • All internal walls, ceilings and toilets have been painted by Adrian Usher, from Rugby.

Ordering and Managing Finances

  • John Lee.



The refurbishment has been masterminded by Interior Designer, Kim Conning, with approval at each stage by the Village Hall Committee (Jane Lee, Richard Seago, Clare Grant, Jim Conning, Hannah Watts and Julia Moore).
